DOK 2 : Summarizing
On their way back to Canaan, the Israelites had to travel through the Sinai desert. The Bible says that during this journey, Moses went to the top of Mount Sinai. There, he received laws from God. These laws were known as the Torah. They later became the first part of the Hebrew Bible. The Torah described a coven, or agreement, with God. In the agreement, God promised to return the Israelites to Canaan if they followed his laws. The Torah explained what God considered to be right an wrong. The most important part of the Torah is the 10 commandments. The 10 commandments told the Israelites to be loyal only to God, whose name was never to be spoken. They must not worship any other gods or images. The belief that there should only be 1 God band they became the foundation for both Christianity and Islam. The 10 commandments help shape the basic moral laws of many nations. The 10 commandments told people not to steal, murder, or tell lies about others. They told people to avoid jealousy and to honor their parents. The 10 commandments also helped develop a belief in the "rule of law." This idea that laws should apply to everyone equally.
DOK 3 : Completely describe 3 things , the Israelites should have done differently to help them through their journey to get to the promise land.
1. Get better trasnportation
If I was taking that long 40 year route I would have had better transportation because i wouldn't want to walk for 40 years even though thats great exercise. Also that could have great stress on your body. If i was a walker i would wander off and find a different way of transportation.
2. Trust there leader more
Moses was there leader on the 40 year journey. In the notes it says they had to follow a law from God. If they broke a law they would be punished. These laws were called the ten commandments. The ten commandments told them not to steal, murder, tell lies about others, get jealous over other people and to honor there parents.
3. Take a different route
So the trip wouldn't be so long I would use a map and look for 4 to 5 different routes that weren't so long. Between the routes i would have found out which was longer and shorter. After i found the first short route I would have set up about 5 to 6 years of supplies and I would have set up my transportation and took off after everybody had a week or 2 to get there supplies.
